I LOVE March!! {Art, Writing, and a Parts of Speech Freebie}

I absolutely LOVE the month of March.  Some of my best memories are in March.... Falling in love, having our eldest son, and getting married - No, that didn't all happen in the same year.

March 2001 - Starting to date, had an emergency appendectomy, and fell in love while on heavy medicine.

March 2002 - Got married

March 2004 - Having our eldest son, exactly 3 years after our first date.  I can't believe he's turning 10 next week!!

In the classroom I love to celebrate March too.  I think it's so much fun to bring in some Irish fun.

Last year I had my class make their own shamrocks out of 4 green hearts.  They wrote ideas why they were LUCKY on each of the hearts.

This year I have also learned how much my students love coloring Parts of Speech.  I decided to dive into trying to create some of my own...

They were duly impressed, and I'm so proud of how they came out.  :)

It's my March freebie that I'm sharing today with you.  Reviewing 20 nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, and prepositions.  I hope it can help you.

I'm linking this up with Joanne over at Head Over Heels for Teaching - because with both activities my students are so motivated to learn, write, and create!

Have a great day!

  3. Did you fall in love with your anesthesiologist? You have lots of reasons to love March!

    Thank you SO much for this parts of speech activity! Our reading series only has second graders learning about nouns...it is so important they know there's more out there! Must do this next week.

    THank you!

  4. What program do you use to create these? I've had ideas for cute foldables but I'm thinking that I'm using the wrong programs or something.
