Welcome to The Collaboration Connection!

Hello!
My name is Alyssa, and I am from the blog Just A Primary Girl!

I am so very excited to start this journey! I have come to know and absolutely adore so many teachers that I consider friends on Instagram! I depend on many of these ladies and men for their creativity, advice and friendship. Teaching is a rewarding, but let's face it - difficult profession. Unless you are a teacher, you truly can't grasp what we go through. The nights of hearing my sweet husband tell me he doesn't know any other teachers that spend such a large amount of time planning, grading etc. These teachers let me know that I am not alone, but I am actually quite normal! Friday Night Lamination Party anyone?  #imthewinnerthatlaminatesonfridaynights FOR. REAL. I am known for my #hashtagging on instagram. I. keep. it. real.

I wanted to collaborate with these friends and come up with a blog that brought us together in a creative way! I wanted it to be a place that no matter what grade or specialty you were, you could find something that would be useful. I also wanted it to be a place that each day, you could come in and see inside our world. The Collaboration Connection was created. We asked on Instagram for help in naming our blog, and we had so many names!

So, a little about myself!

I started my career in teaching late! I went back to school later in life and appreciate my degree so much. I have my undergrad in Elementary k-6, and my Masters Degree in Reading K-12 as a Reading Specialist. This is my 6th year teaching. This is my 3rd year in first grade. I love love love my job.

I am a wife. I have been with my husband for 12 years (this week) and I love him more than ever.  We met at a frat party, and the rest is history. The best man I know.

I am a mom. I have a 3.5 year old son that is autistic. This is why I work so hard as a teacher, so that I can ensure that he has the best of everything. Much of my instagram has posts that showcase his growth. He has come so far! At this time last year, he had no words at all. I am blown away by his progress. I thank god every day that I am a teacher, because if I wasn't, I wouldn't have been able to see my son was autistic at such a young age.

I am a teacher. I love my job. Obviously, I hate paper work, and complain about it constantly, but at the end of the day when I ask what did you learn, and 6 year olds tell me something I only mentioned in passing - or a child remembers something I never thought they would, it could bring me to tears. I love seeing their smiling faces! January is my favorite time of the year! It is the BEST!!!

I wanted to share with you, one of my favorite products. I love how innocent my first graders are, and how friendly they are to one another. I created this Are You A Bucket Filler Packet. It can be used in K-5th grade.  (Click on the pictures to go to my store to get this awesome 32 page packet) You will also have a freebie in the preview for how your children can fill buckets at home as well as school. If you like the preview and pictures, consider the pack! Please follow my store, my blog, and instagram.

This has been MONTHS in the making, and I am BEYOND excited to introduce to you my friends in The Collaboration Connection!
Thanks for stopping by!
